Broadway in Boston Announces 2025-2026 Line-up

The 2025/2026 Lexus Broadway In Boston Season at the Citizens Opera House and the Emerson Colonial Theatre, an Ambassador Theatre Group venue has been announced. Included in the seven show Season Subscription are "Mrs. Doubtfire," "Suffs," "The Outsiders," "Some Like It Hot," "The Great Gatsby," "The Sound Of Music," and "Disney's Beauty And The Beast."

Additional show options are available to add to any Season Subscription and include "Hamilton," "Kinky Boots," "Les Misérables," and "Moulin Rouge! The Musical."

The season kicks off with "Mrs. Doubtfire," the musical version of the Robin Williams 1993 film hit, at the Emerson Colonial, September 9 - 21, 2025.

The return of the Pulitzer Prize-winning "Hamilton" follows at the Citizens Opera House Sept. 23 - Nov. 2 for its third visit to Boston.

A new touring production of the perennial Rodgers and Hammerstein favorite "The Sound of Music" starts the new year when it plays the Citizens Opera House on January 6 - 18.

The Citizens Opera House will next host the new musical version of "Some Like It Hot" by the "Hairspray" team of Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman that is based on Billy Wilder's classic 1959 Depression-era comedy about two musicians (Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon) who disguise themselves in drag to avoid mobsters and join an all-girl band. It plays January 28 - through February 8, 2026 at the Citizens Opera House.

Another show where drag plays a prominent part is "Kinky Boots," the Broadway hit about an ailing shoe manufacturer that gets a second life when it begins to design shoes for drag queens. It plays the Citizens Opera House from February 17 - 22, 2026.

Two recent musicals follow. "Suffs," Shaina Taub's Tony-winning musical about the women's suffrage movement, plays the Emerson Colonial from March 17-29, 2026, and the Tony-winning Best Musical "The Outsiders," based on Francis Ford Coppola's 1983 teen drama, arrives at the Citizens Opera House March 31 – April 12, 2026.

Two beloved musicals return to the Citizens Opera House: A new production of "Disney's Beauty and the Beast," April 14 – May 2, 2026, and the revised version of "Les Misérables," June 9 - 21, 2026.

The current Broadway adaptation of "The Great Gatsby" comes to the Citizens Opera House from June 9 – 21, 2025, and "Moulin Rouge! the Musical" makes its third return to Boston, this time at the Citizens Opera House, July 7 – 19, 2025.
