Citing Juneteenth, Hulu to Stream 'Love, Victor' 2 Days Early
READ TIME: 1 MIN.
Hulu took to Twitter Wednesday to show support for the Black Live Matter movement and in doing so announced that its upcoming LGBTQ coming-of-age series "Love, Victor" will stream two days early on June 17 instead of debuting on Juneteenth (June 19).
"This coming June 19 -- Juneteenth -- will mark 155 years since slavery was abolished in America," Hulu's statement reads. "This date represents an important turning point for our nation and for human rights, and we believe that now, more than ever, it deserves to have its own day in the spotlight.
"For this reason, we are shifting the premiere dates for our new original series, 'Love, Victor' and 'Taste the Nation,' to June 17th and 18th, respectively," the statement adds.
"Love, Victor" is a spinoff of the 2018 LGBTQ film "Love, Simon" and follows Creekwood High School's newest student Victor (Michael Cimino) as he navigates his family life, social life while coming to terms with his sexuality.
