LUNG FORCE Walk Boston to Raise Awareness for Lung Cancer

On Thursday, May 11 in Boston, LUNG FORCE Walk Boston will come together at the Boston Common Parkman Bandstand to raise awareness for lung cancer,�the #1 cancer killer in the U.S. LUNG FORCE Heroes, health experts and spokespersons from the American Lung Association and others affected by lung disease will be on hand.

The third Annual�LUNG FORCE Walk in Boston�presented by Lahey Health will be attended by nearly 500 people and is expected to raise over $100,000. The 2.5 mile walk around Boston Common will be kicked off by a welcome program, honoring local LUNG FORCE Heroes, survivors, advocates, and families.�

The family-friendly event features a "Walkers Village" which includes interactive educational tents, exhibitors, music, entertainment, and fun for the whole family (well behaved, leashed pets included).

The American Lung Association's LUNG FORCE movement is recognized nationwide and includes 43 walks in 28 states in 2017 alone.� LUNG FORCE events raise funds for research, early detection, advocacy, education and awareness for lung cancer, particularly awareness about the high rate of lung cancer in women.

5:00 p.m. - Participant check-in and festival begins
6:00 p.m. - Walk kicks off with a welcome program featuring a LUNG FORCE hero, sponsors, and top teams.�
7:00 p.m.- Walkers return to start and enjoy
7:30 p.m. - Passport Winner announced and Closing Ceremonies��

Participation is free. However, LUNG FORCE Walk is a fundraising event, and all participants are encouraged to raise donations to support research, early detection, advocacy, education and awareness for lung cancer. Participants who raise $100 or more will receive a commemorative t-shirt.
