Fox News Guest Attacks Bruce Jenner, Says Trans Detainees Shouldn't Get Hormone Treatment

A Tea Party activist Thursday used Fox News as a stage to take a swipe at Olympic gold medalist Bruce Jenner while decrying policy that grants medical treatment to transgender illegal immigrant detainees.
In a segment on Fox News' morning program "Fox & Friends," Scottie Nell Hughes, news director for Tea Party Nation, advocated that transgender illegal immigrant detainees should be put in "pink boxers" and have their hormone therapy withheld before being shipped back to their home country, Raw Story reports.
In a segment called "Entitlement Nation," Hughes scoffed at Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) standards adopted in 2011 that give transgender detainees access to hormone therapy if they had already been receiving it before being taken into custody.
"I can guarantee you if Bruce Jenner went down to Cabo this weekend and got arrested, the Mexican government would not pay for his estrogen," Hughes told segment host Bruce Kilmeade.
Many media sources are speculating that Jenner, a gold medal winner for the decathlon in the 1976 Olympics, is planning to transition to a woman.
Hughes went on to say: "And the only thing I want to do talking about transgender and helping them be a female is given them a pair of [Arizona Sheriff] Joe Arpaio's pink boxers as we send them back to their country."
According to AZCentral.com, Arpaio, known as "America's toughest sheriff" was known for making inmates wear pink underwear, housing in them in canvas tents in triple-digit summer heat, and dressing them in old-time striped jail uniforms. In 2013, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear Arpaio's appeal of a ruling that criticized a decision by his jail officers to force pink underwear onto a mentally ill inmate who erroneously believed jailers were trying to rape him.
In a recent report CNSNews noted that according to Commission Chairman Martin Castro, the Department of Homeland Security is the "largest agency that has custody of transgender individuals."
