Kilian Melloy READ TIME: 6 MIN.
This week Scott Holland has been called to New York due to family business so I, Mike Halterman, am taking on one of his many roles and giving you the rundown of events in South Florida this past weekend!
On Thursday, Boardwalk celebrated their 29th anniversary in style just as we have come to expect from Victor and his team. It's hard to believe that Boardwalk has been entertaining us here in South Florida with some of the best shows and male revues in the country for nearly three decades now! Thanks for a great celebration, we can't wait until the big 3-0 next year!
Saturday, Discotekka celebrated owner Joe Marcella's 55th birthday with a Mexican fiesta-themed party! DJ Sushi, DJ Carlos G, and the cast of entertainers, Poizon, Sasha, Gina, and Lola, all helped Joe have a very happy birthday. Likewise, Score was in the Cinco de Mayo spirit as well on Saturday, with DJ Abel providing some hot beats during the Cha Cha de Mayo party.
On Saturday and Sunday, Adam's Interiors hosted their first-ever Warehouse Blowout Sale in their 26,000 square foot warehouse. It was like Black Friday on steroids, with furniture deals on end-of-the-line and specially-priced merchandise from wall to wall. Thank you to the entire Adam's team who braved unbearable heat and worked so hard to bring us such amazing deals on stunning furniture.
Lady Gaga started off her brand new tour "artRAVE: The ARTPOP Ball" here in South Florida at the BB&T Center in Sunrise. In addition to her traditional mega-hits, she performed songs from her latest album including "ARTPOP," "Applause," "G.U.Y." and "Do What U Want." Congratulations to the winners of Hotspots concert giveaway, Cheryl. We hope you enjoyed the show as much as we did.

Epic Records, in conjunction with the Estate of Michael Jackson, will release "Xscape," an album of new music by the internationally beloved music icon and King of Pop, Michael Jackson. The project features eight new tracks, which the world will be hearing for the very first time on the new album. For the ultimate fan experience, "Xscape," will also be available in a Deluxe Edition, which includes all of the sourced Michael Jackson recordings in their original form. The "Xscape," standard and Deluxe Edition's are available at all retailers worldwide on May 13.
"Xscape," is executive produced by Epic Records Chairman and CEO L.A. Reid, who, after an initial mining of Jackson's archives by the Estate, was granted unlimited access to the treasures representing four decades of material on which Jackson had completed his vocals.
Reid curated the final list of recordings to deliver to the producers, who retooled the production to add a fresh, contemporary sound that retains Jackson's essence and integrity. It's a process Reid calls "contemporizing." The album's lead producer, Timbaland was one of a handful of producers Reid believed had the gravitas, depth and range to creatively engage with Jackson's work. Additional producers include global hit makers Rodney Jerkins, Stargate, Jerome "Jroc" Harmon and John McClain.
The title of this album honors Michael's album naming process. He always chose a song from the album to name his projects and, beginning with "Thriller," used only one word titles, each with an edgy quality to them. This is true of the new project. Written by Michael Jackson and Jerkins, and produced by Jackson and Jerkins, "Xscape" has further significance in that it is the one track on the album that was 'contemporized' by the producer who recorded it originally in the studio with Michael.
