After months of speculation and excitement, "RuPaul’s Drag Race UK" fans finally have their answer: the seventh series of the beloved drag competition will premiere on Thursday, 25 September 2025, exclusively on BBC iPlayer. The announcement was made on 10 September 2025 via the show’s official X (Twitter) account, which declared, “Fairy godMOTHER Ru has spoken. RuPaul’s Drag Race UK IS BACK on Thursday 25th September. Dust off your heels – you’re going to the ball!”. The social media reveal ignited immediate excitement throughout the UK and international drag communities, with fans and alumni alike flooding the comment sections with messages of anticipation and support.

Season seven will feature twelve drag queens representing a spectrum of backgrounds, styles, and LGBTQ+ identities. The cast includes Bones (London), Bonnie Ann Clyde (Dublin), Catrin Feelings (Rhondda Valley), Chai T Grande (London), Elle Vosque (Belfast), Nyongbella (London), Paige Three (Surrey), Pasty (Cornwall), Sally™ (South Shields), Silllexa Diction (Leeds), Tayris Mongardi (Brighton), and Viola (Coventry). The competitors were introduced during the “Meet the Queens” special broadcast on 24 August 2025, offering viewers an early glimpse into the artistry, humor, and passion each performer brings to the stage.

Each queen’s journey reflects the evolving landscape of drag in the UK, where regional diversity, intersectional LGBTQ+ identities, and creative innovation are increasingly at the forefront. The cast features transgender, non-binary, and gender-nonconforming performers alongside cisgender queens, ensuring authentic representation and visibility for the full spectrum of the LGBTQ+ community.

As in previous seasons, the queens will compete in a variety of challenges designed to test their skills in fashion, performance, comedy, and impersonation. Fan-favorite staples such as the Snatch Game and the Rusical will return, alongside new challenges crafted to highlight each queen’s individuality. The queen who triumphs in each maxi-challenge will earn a coveted RuPeter Badge, while those in the bottom will “lip-sync for their lives” in hopes of staying in the competition.

RuPaul resumes his role as host and head judge, joined by returning panelists Michelle Visage, Alan Carr, and Graham Norton. The guest judge lineup features a blend of UK television and music royalty, including Jamie-Lee O’Donnell ("Derry Girls"), Jane Horrocks ("Absolutely Fabulous"), Michelle de Swarte ("Spent"), Sophie Willan ("Alma’s Not Normal"), and Susan Wokoma ("Chewing Gum"), as well as comedian Joel Dommett, West End star Mazz Murray, radio host Jordan North, Nadine Coyle (Girls Aloud), and Mutya Buena (Sugababes). Choreographer Claudimar Neto will also return to guide the queens through their most demanding dance numbers.

Since its inception, "RuPaul’s Drag Race UK" has played a crucial role in elevating drag culture and queer visibility in mainstream media. The show has become a platform for discussing issues such as gender identity, discrimination, and self-expression, while celebrating the resilience and artistry of queer people in the UK. Each season’s cast reflects a diverse cross-section of the community, challenging stereotypes and offering audiences a window into the lived experiences of drag performers from different backgrounds.

The impact of Drag Race UK extends beyond television ratings and viral moments; it fosters dialogue, encourages allyship, and inspires queer youth to pursue their own creative passions. Previous winners such as The Vivienne, Lawrence Chaney, Krystal Versace, Danny Beard, Ginger Johnson, and Kyran Thrax have used their platforms to advocate for equality and inclusion, both within the drag scene and beyond.
