Conservative Radio Host Fights With Gay Caller

Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association is known for his vehemently anti-gay views, so it may come as little surprise that the conservative pundit faced off with a gay caller on his radio show this week.

According to Right Wing Watch, Fischer and a not-too-happy caller only known as "Wes" got into it, on the ultra-conservative's "Focal Point" radio show about being gay and religion, resulting in Fischer saying some pretty ridiculous things.

Fischer first said he doesn't believe people are born gay because it's a "matter of choice." He went on to say:

"To have sex outside of marriage, I don't care if it's gay sex or straight sex, to have sex outside of marriage is a sin in the eyes of God, and we believe you can remain...chaste," Fischer said, later adding, "You don't have to give into every sexual impulse that you feel."

Wes then asked Fischer if he would ever have sex with a man.

"I'm sorry?" Fischer asked before letting out a chuckle. "No!"

"I thought it was a choice?" Wes asked.

"Sure it is. I'm just saying it's emotionally, morally, mentally impossible for me--" Fischer said before being cut off by Wes, who said, "But you just told me you couldn't do it!"

"Yeah, there's no way; nothing in me that would let me do that," Fischer replied.

"OK. How do you think I feel about women? There's no way--" Wes said.

"That's fine. My point is that if an individual doesn't have a legitimate way to satisfy their sexual impulses then the path God designed for them is the path of abstinence, and chastity and celibacy."
