LGBTQ Celebrities Give The Suits Off Their Backs - For Charity
Mark Thompson READ TIME: 1 MIN.
Since the Tony Awards, LGBTQ celebrity Neil Patrick Harris has joined Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Harvey Fierstein in showing support for Men's Wearhouse's fifth annual National Suit Drive to help unemployed Americans "suit up" for success.
Men's Wearhouse kicked off the 5th annual National Suit Drive by asking celebrities to style a suit to be donated to one of National Suit Drive's 200 non-profit partners fighting unemployment in their communities. LGBTQ celebrities in particular stepped up and wanted to give back to their hometowns.
Neil Patrick Harris sent good wishes along with his donation, writing, "Congrats on the new duds. Suit Up!" Harris donated a modern-fit suit, in line with his legendary How I Met Your Mother character, Barney Stinson.
Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson also sent a note for the recipient of his suit, wishing the recipient good luck and reminding him to "wear this with clean underwear."
National Suit Drive continues to collect professional attire through July 31st at over 900 Men's Wearhouse stores across the nation. Members of the LGBTQ community can follow in these A-List star's footsteps and help men in their own hometowns.
All items stay local and will be donated to nonprofit partners closest to the Men's Wearhouse in each town.
