Marriage equality celebrates the love is love — but it's just that: Marriage equality, meaning that for some couples the legal right to marriage will inevitably be bookended by the legal decision to divorce.

Such is the case in the upcoming divorce drama "Our Son," which is set to star Billy Porter and Luke Evans as a married couple who are dissolving their family but each fighting to retain custody of their child, Variety reports.

"Bill Oliver is directing the movie from a script he co-wrote with Peter Nickowitz," the entertainment mag related. "Additional cast members, including the actor who will play their child, have not been announced."

Details about the project were scant, but Variety recalled that Porter won an Emmy for "Pose" earlier this year and cited his role as "Fabulous Godmother" in last year's Kay Cannon remake of "Cinderalla."

"Porter is set to make his directorial debut with the high school coming-of-age film 'Anything's Possible,' written by Alvaro García Lecuona," the article added, noting that the multi-hyphenate has "already lined up his next directing gig, helming queer teen comedy 'To Be Real' from Gabrielle Union's I'll Have Another Productions."

Evans, the outlet noted, is "best known for playing Gaston in Disney's live-action "Beauty and the Beast," a film that spawned a now-delayed television prequel project for Disney Plus. The six-episode origin story was reportedly centered around Evans' character, Gaston, and Josh Gad's Le Fou, who was in love with him.

When word of the series' postponement broke earlier this year, Evans took to Twitter to call the news "very sad" and say, "We are devastated. Goodbye, for now, from Gaston and Le fou".
